Job Description

The International Business Times is looking to hire an assistant to work directly with our Finance and Accounting Director. The position requires managing the operating budget operation, fiscal reporting, and accounting transactions for the company. The assistant will help with the development of any revisions to the operating budget, provide financial analyses and develop financial reports and budget forecasts, and ensure expenditures are kept within budget. The assistant is to also ensure that all billing is completed accurately and on time, that the general ledger states correct revenue and accounts receivable, and that all accounts receivable remain current.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for corporate credit card accounts, including processing credit card purchases, reconciling monthly statements, coding and tracking charges, and monitoring the available credit.
• Process daily deposit and cash receipts
• Print and mail invoices
• Process purchases orders and invoices
• Assist with weekly Payroll
• Collect past due A/R through phone calls, letters, or collections (if needed) maintain A/R collection detail
• Reconcile A/R aging report
• Prepare monthly sales tax reports
• Complete Bank reconciliation
• Post Manual Invoices
• Maintain Credit memo database
• Collections and Collection Calls
• Process financing paperwork

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience in sales, advertising and/or media industry
• Candidate should be proficient with accounting basics (post information to accounting ledgers, i.e. receivables)
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial information
• Resolve complex problems on behalf of accounting and finance departments
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software;
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to present information to senior administration
