Job Description

IT Support Specialist

Chemical Information Services, a leading provider of product and producer information to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist at our Dallas, TX facility. This position will serve as primary helpdesk contact for local users, remote users, customers (website support), and will also serve as backup to the Network Administrator. Must be available to work after hours and periodic holidays as needed in order to conduct system maintenance and address any critical issues that may arise. Ideal candidate will be self motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides client support and technical issue resolution via e-mail, phone and other electronic devices
• Install and configure hardware and software for end users
• Support end users with hardware, software, and network related issues
• Support network hardware and servers
• Works with vendor support contacts as needed to resolve technical issues
• Works with customers to support issues related to login and usability
• Open, track, update, escalate trouble tickets
• Maintain documentation and configurations
• Manage hardware inventory

• Windows Server 2008 R2 (including terminal server)
• Active Directory
• Microsoft Sharepoint Services
• Helpdesk ticket management
• Backup Software Monitoring and Management

Hardware Support:

• Dell workstations, laptops, & servers
• HP and Samsung network printers
• HP desktop printers
• Mobile phones: Blackberry and iPhone
• Local and remote IP phones: Cisco
• Backup drives
• Cisco switches
• Wireless access points
• Preventative maintenance

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Information Technology is required
• Certifications are a plus
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
